Recycling UK - re-use and reduce household waste |

Teachers teaching recycling in UK schools are looking for ways to encourage pupils to recycle and reuse packaging. Schools are encouraging GCSE students to understand the benefits of composting and issues surrounding waste disposal and landfill. Schemes of work can show pupils how to buy recycled products and encourage a sense of producer and consumer responsibility. Students need to understand how recycling can benefit the UK environment - for example how waste incineration can produce energy from household waste. Environmental studies in colleges cover areas such as the landfill tax and landfill tax credits and how local authorities and the community sector are using kerbside collection schemes. |
